These terms cover your use of this website. They are not the contract for building work. If we end up doing a job for you, that is governed by a separate written building contract, and that contract wins over anything on this site.

What this site is

General information about the work Upright Building Services does, written to help you work out whether to ring us. It is not professional advice about your particular house, your block or your circumstances. Every job is different, and the only reliable answer about yours comes from someone standing in front of it.

Prices on this site are starting points, not quotes

Where we publish a figure, it is a starting price or a typical range based on jobs we have done. It is not an offer, it is not a quote, and it does not bind either of us. Costs move with the size of the job, the state of the existing building, access, materials and what the approval process requires.

The same applies to timeframes. Approval periods in particular are outside our control.

A price becomes a quote when we have looked at your job and given you one in writing.

Licensing and insurance

The licence numbers, insurance and memberships shown on this site are current at the date above and you are welcome to verify any of them with the relevant authority. If something looks out of date, tell us.

Photographs

Photographs of completed work are of our own projects unless stated otherwise. They show what we have built, not what your job will look like.

Accuracy and availability

We try to keep the site accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that everything on it is complete or up to date, and information about planning rules, levies and government requirements changes without notice. Check anything you intend to rely on. We also do not promise the site will always be available or free of faults.

Our content

The text, photographs, logo and design on this site belong to us. You are welcome to read it, print it and share a link to it. Please do not republish it as your own or use our photographs to advertise someone else's work.

Links to other sites

Where we link somewhere else, we do so because we think it is useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what is on them.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of this site or from relying on general information published on it.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, we limit it to supplying the relevant service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory.

We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when we last did.
